Through her "new member project", Claudette exemplified the Rotary spirit, making a significant impact on the community and inspiring the next generation of readers.

Claudette accessed a new member District Grant to implement a project of her own design, focusing on one of Rotary's pillars, Supporting Education. Recognizing a need for educational resources, she identified the Traphagen School in Mt. Vernon, which required books for their 5th grade class. Claudette successfully raised $750 to purchase the necessary books. In a heartwarming ceremony, she presented the check to the students, their teacher, and the principal, committing to enhancing their reading experience. Claudette made a promise to return at the end of the school year to review the reading materials and engage with the students about their favorite book.
